This memorial is a collection of individual tributes in honor of:

Leonard Grunther
March 1, 1925 - April 7, 1968

 Biography
Leonard Grunther was born to Moe and Rose Grunther in Brooklyn, NY.

He attended Madison HS, also in Bklyn,NY.
During WWII, he tried to enlist in the Airforce, but was medically disqualified due to a high Albumin count in his blood.
As most of his friends left to fight the war, Leonard started taking auto mechanic courses in school.  After graduation he took a job as an auto mechanic at a local gas station.
It was there that he befriended another mechanic with whom, with their combined savings purchased the Flying A service station they were working in..
worked approx 60 hours a week
Finally the disease caught up with him at the age of 41.
suffered for 2 years and finally passed away.
he was loved by all his clients, which was acknowledged by the hundreds of sympathy cards.

He was a mason in the masonic lodge and reached a high official level

married esther warkow sept 19,  1948

he had 2 children, Stu and Ira
